Description
Help shape the future of mental health and learning disability care in Norfolk and Suffolk
At Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, everything we do is driven by a our ambition to to deliver safer, kinder, better care for the people and communities we serve. With over 5,000 dedicated colleagues, we are on a journey of improvement; one that demands strong governance, courageous leadership, and a Board that brings challenge, compassion, and clarity in equal measure.
We are now looking for a new Non‑Executive Director who will help shape this next chapter. You will join a Board committed to learning and progress, working alongside our Executive team to steer the Trust’s strategic direction, strengthen our culture, and ensure that the quality and safety of our services meet the highest standards. Your voice will matter; not only in the boardroom, but in the way we hold ourselves to account for the experiences of service users, families, carers, and staff.
This role calls for someone who brings senior leadership experience from a complex, people‑focused environment and who understands what good governance feels like in practice. You will be someone who thinks independently, speaks with integrity, and builds relationships rooted in trust. You will need to have financial leadership experience or a background that enables you to chair one of our key assurance committees, but just as importantly, you will have the curiosity, empathy, and courage needed to support and challenge the organisation as it continues to evolve.
We are determined that our Board reflects the diversity and vibrancy of our communities. We particularly welcome candidates from the global majority, and those with lived experience of mental health or community health services.
If you share our commitment to improving lives, strengthening services, and supporting a compassionate culture, we would be delighted to hear from you.
