Description

We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a visionary clinical leader to join Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) as Clinical Director – Transformation. This newly established role is central to our ambition to deliver outstanding, person-centred mental health care through innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will lead the Clinical Transformation Directorate, working closely with the Chief Transformation Officer and senior clinical leaders to redesign care pathways, reduce variation, and embed digital solutions that enhance safety, quality, and outcomes.

As Clinical Director – Transformation, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of consistent clinical pathways across localities and integrated care systems. You will oversee transformation programmes and strategic clinical collaboratives, ensuring that service redesign is informed by evidence, co-produced with service users and carers, and aligned with national best practice. You will also provide support the development of clinical policy, and champion a culture of learning and improvement.

This role includes 6 programmed activities (or 0.6 WTE) for leadership and management, with the remaining time dedicated to clinical care and professional development. You will work in partnership with system partners, including Integrated Care Boards, provider collaboratives, and the voluntary sector, to deliver joined-up, high-quality care. You will also play a key role in supporting the development of clinical staff, promoting multi-professional working, and ensuring that the Trust’s values and strategic objectives are embedded in all transformation work.

We are looking for a senior mental health professional with full professional registration and significant leadership experience. You will have a proven track record of delivering strategic transformation in complex healthcare settings, strong interpersonal and influencing skills, and a deep commitment to equality, diversity, and co-production with service users and carers.

NSFT provides specialist mental health, learning disability, and community health services to over 1.6 million people across Norfolk and Suffolk. We are a values-led organisation, guided by our TALK principles—Team, Accountable, Learn and Improve, and Kind. Our culture is one of openness, inclusivity, and co-production, where staff, service users, and carers work together to shape the future of care. If you are ready to lead transformational change and help shape the future of mental health services in Norfolk and Suffolk, we welcome your application.

You can meet the NSFT team and Faisil Sethi, CMO at Royal College of Psychiatrists Congress in Wales. Call now to book an informal meeting to find out more.
